Board of Trustees of the Association of International Students of Russia convened at KFU – Kazan Federal University

The meeting occurred on 14 September.

Rector Lenar Safin and President of RUDN University, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AIS Vladimir Filippov helmed the convention.

Rector Safin noted that the Russian government currently aims to optimize and improve the conditions for international students, including entry and stay regulations.

“This is done to a great extent thanks to the AIS and RUDN University. I hope that the experience shared today by Tatarstan and KFU will be of use to further improve our policies,” he added.

Dr Filippov thanked KFU for its immense contributions to Russia’s educational export. He said that the University’s 11 thousand overseas students indicate high demand for its programs.

RUDN and KFU then signed a cooperation agreement to create joint programs and implement projects in areas of mutual interest.

President of AIS Issa Shaabo then spoke about the Association’s achievements in 2022 and 2023 and plans for 2024.

The convention takes up 14 and 15 September and includes discussions, tours of KFU facilities, meetings with local student organizations, project sessions, master classes, and roundtables.
