Cooperation agreement signed by KFU and Simetra at Kazan Digital Week – Kazan Federal University

The forum is being held at Kazan Expo on 20 – 22 September.

Among the forum’s topics are intelligent transport, digital technology in governance, digital industry, fintech, cybersecurity, and digitization of education, healthcare, agriculture, and culture.

Simetra is a company engaged in transport modeling and traffic forecasting for urban planning. The agreement was signed by Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation and Innovation Dmitry Pashin and General Director of A+S Transpoekt (owner of Simetra trademark) Vladimir Shvetsov.

Simetra’s main counterpart at KFU will be the Laboratory of Intelligent Mobility. Deputy Director of the Institute of Design and Spatial Arts Ramil Zagidullin notes, “We plan to cooperate with the company in spatial, territorial, urban, transportation planning and design. Together we will hold marketing events (seminars, round tables), prepare educational and methodological materials on the subject of transport modeling and intelligent transport systems, and implement software products. SIMETRA representatives will help us in organizing the training process using software products for traffic flow forecasting and modeling.”

At the forum, KFU’s Center for Special Robotics and AI presented its proprietary system of lidar-sonar assistance for the visually impaired – Homo Meliorus.

Director of the Institute of AI, Robotics and System Engineering Dmitry Chikrin helmed a roundtable on space-based Earth observation systems with Gazprom.
