Rector Lenar Safin visits TatOilExpo 2023 – Kazan Federal University

A traditional event opened at Kazan Expo.

KFU is a mainstay of one of the biggest industry events in Russia. Over 160 companies from many countries are contributing to this year’s expo.

Oil and gas industry is one of the main research areas at KFU and is one of the five strategic projects chosen as part of its Priority 2030 program.

This time, KFU’s booth presented 15 projects and developments, including such in fracking, drilling, road pavement materials, catalysts, polymer complexes, desulfurization compounds, hydrate formation inhibitors, potable water analysis, and others.

Vice-Rector for Earth Sciences Danis Nurgaliev informed Rais (Governor) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov about those and other projects.

At the forum, the University and Gazpromneft-Promyshlennye Innovatsii LLC signed a cooperation agreement. The signatories were Rector Lenar Safin and General Director Mikhail Nikulin.

The sides will work together in food science and healthcare. GPI LLC is a partner in a chemistry research cluster formed together with KFU and Kazan National Research Technological University. The cluster aims at producing low-tonnage petroleum chemistry products for various industries, including compounds for dyes, food additives, and medications.
