The sides discussed production of CAR-T cell preparations and immune therapy for leukemia.
“We are very interested in this joint work. If we can save people’s lives, we are on the right path,” said the Rector.
Cygenta is a Chinese company specializing in cell and gene therapy. As part of ROSTKI Russia-China Forum, it signed a trilater cooperation agreement with KFU and Izvarino Pharma. The University offers its research capabilities in cell therapy. Other local partners are Kazan’s Republican Clinical Hospital and Republican Clinical Oncological Hospital.
General Director of Izvarino Pharma Orest Ibragimov shared, “Without KFU researchers such high-tech projects would be untenable. Our Chinese partners have toured the University’s facilities and have witnessed the state of its cleanrooms.”
Head of the Department of Project Management of Cygenta Liu Yujing emphasized that the two countries have huge experience in research cooperation, “We value our cooperation in innovative medicine and are eager to advance it.”
